Sloaney Pony is the creation of Tony Culpitt, a born and bred Melbourne boy who’s been jet setting around the world for the last fourteen years acquiring his “apprenticeship” from opening and managing some of London, New York and Ibizia’s most outstanding style bars, restaurants and clubs.
Sloaney Pony is a unique venue offering a unique experience. On Port Melbourne’s map in the old Fountain Inn Hotel building from the 1860’s, our place is special in its design and atmosphere, combining the old-world, rustic exterior with a modern, stylish, French-Venetian interior. Geared with something for everyone, Sloaney Pony is a gorgeous, multi-faceted venue with a wine bar & lounge, alfresco dining, restaurant, private dining room, upstairs function room and roof-top terrace with amazing city views. Sloaney is really easy on the eye and the stylish décor makes the place grand and cosy all at once – big brown leather couches, modern contemporary chandeliers, eclectic lamps, open fireplaces and rustic French Chateau gates which divide the restaurant from the bar.
Sloaney offers a class of service directed at the customer, and only dishes up the best quality food made fresh on the premises daily. The drink menu boasts luxury spirits as the house pours, domestic and imported beers bottled and on-tap, an extensive selection of wine from Australia and around the world with Vintage Chandon as the house bubbly, and can compete with Melbourne's best cocktails - made from the freshest ingredients.
Sloaney during the day is relaxed, open and warm. A European style tapas menu is available in the front bar & lounge, and an a la carte dining menu is available in the restaurant. Sit in the couches or outside and enjoy a bottle of wine with friends, or have a coffee and use the free Wireless Internet. Regulars/Locals hour is from 5-6pm Tuesday to Friday with specials on bottled brewskies, wine by the bottle and cocktails.
By night, Sloaney turns up the French-Latin Deep house music and exudes a vibrant, sexy, stylish atmosphere. Kick-on into the evening with dinner in the restaurant or classy cocktails in the bar.
